A small intrepid group of 4 decided to brave the threats of Storm Dave on Easter Saturday to continue work on clearing grass and weeds from around the Arboretum trees.
This time concentration was on the Avenue and further signs of Spring were noticeable: flowers on the Carpinus betulus (Hornbeam), blossom on the Amelanchier (Juneberry) and new growth on the Pinus Radiata (Monterey Pine) with the disease resistant Elms along the hedge coming into leaf.
