January 2025 Work Party

We were very lucky with the weather on Saturday 25th January for the Friends of Hampshire Farm Meadows work party.

Blue sky, sunshine and virtually no wind!

Neil and Cath had liaised with Guy so the main job was to cut back the Goat Willow in the Arboretum as it had not had its usual cut in the Autumn due to the weather. It was surprising how much of it there was in clumps over a large area of the site so seven of us spent the whole time on this job.

Meanwhile Guy and Sandy planted the remaining disease resistant Elms. We were all ready for our refreshments at the end and there were still a few Christmas biscuits to tempt those who hadn't made New year resolutions.

Many thanks to the Friends for their hard work helping to maintain the Arboretum meadow.
